Usually one, but as many as is needed. We do not assign your logo to multiple designers by default.
The reason is simple:
It is rare for designers to work together with any type of efficiency. Design styles, tastes, preferences and methods differ too much.
Some design firms claim that they have many designers working on your logo.
The truth is that very few of them have designers on their permanent staff. The majority outsource your logo to x number of freelance designers who each come up with a couple of concept designs. The problem is that the design firm has no control over originality of the designs. If a freelance designer copies an existing logo and is caught out, they simply disappear.
If an in-house designer is caught doing the same thing, he or she is out of a job.
When using freelancers, the design house does not care about efficiency. The freelancer is paid for the work, not for their time. We use in-house designers. These guys are paid fixed salaries. They are paid for their time, so we want maximum efficiency. If we had multiple designers on one project, it would take us much longer to achieve the same result - and you would have to pay the bill. We prefer giving you low prices and maximum efficiency, using only in-house designers.
